Contributing to Great Causes
There are several worthy causes that people in our community are raising money towards, and as a business, it is difficult to say yes to every one of them so how do we decide?
I’ve heard that some businesses choose a cause that is close to their heart (maybe a personal connection) and only donate to events that raise money for that cause, good strategy I think.

For us at the Best Western Plus Rose City Suites, we try to help as many as we can with a gift of a gift certificate for a hotel stay, with a value of $140, it certainly helps the fundraising goal.  In September, we are helping 2 different causes both which involve law enforcement. Fortunately, we’ve not had many encounters with law enforcement at the hotel; however we highly rely on their services to keep our communities safe.

This year we’ll be supporting the Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember Cyclists who cycle from Niagara to Ottawa the week before the last Sunday of September to commemorate those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.   The men & women in uniform choose to put themselves at risk every day to keep our communities and families safe, and many suffer from PTSD caused by their line of work and we need to assist them.  http://policeridetoremember.com/category/home

The other cause we support in September is the Cops for Cancer Ride. This 500 km Cycling Tour pedals the Golden Horseshoe over five days in September. We can all do our part to support a worthy cause, so pick something that has a personal connection, and go for. Donate towards it, raise money for it, buy a ticket for an event to support it, promote it to others, just do it with all your heart and have fun!
