Niagara's Best Art Festival

Pelham Art Festival: A Mother's Day weekend tradition
In just 3 weeks we’ll have what I consider to be, one of the best art festivals in Niagara. Honestly, my experience in art festivals is very minimal, so let me just tell you why it is my favorite.
It’s sometimes good not to change a good thing, but there is a big change this year, and that is to the venue, to a brand new arena on Meridian Way, in the Duliban arena, is where the event will be hosted this year.
This festival is not just for locals, we have a dozen exhibitors from across Ontario who stay with us for the weekend to exhibit & sell their works of art over the Mother’s Day Weekend. Each year 75 fine art artists and artisans have been coming to this festival since 1987, welcoming over 2000 visitors in 2 and a half days.
For the last few years I have had the pleasure of volunteering at the registration table where I take the nominal $5 entry fee (which is given back to the community) or $20 for lunch on the Sunday I really get to see who is attending the show. Love seeing the little kids who were given a puzzle last year to go and search for specific art pieces before returning to claim their free prize! Young couples, senior couples, many who bring out their moms (since it is Mothers Day Weekend), it’s all just beautiful.
Now to the art…fin art, jewellery, abstract, native American, paint, sketch, oil, pottery, ceramic, photography, inspirational messages – all so beautiful and worth the drive if within 2hours and don’t want to make it an overnight trip. If you can do an overnight, Friday night is a special preview evening with hors d’oeuvres, wine and beautiful music by Khea Emmanuel Trio (piano, bass, drums Jazz)
It's my favorite because it's inclusive of a variety of styles. You don't feel like you need to know the right words to have a conversation with the arts about their work. You can wear a pair of jeans or a dress, and you'll feel right at home.
