Established in 1948 as the St. Catharines Civic Orchestra; the Niagara Symphony Orchestra has grown over the years from a small community ensemble to a full orchestra with over 50 members. It is a registered not-for-profit art organization, and as such all their support comes from patrons, donors, sponsors, and levels of government. March 8th and 9th - Classical Mystery Tour

• Enjoy the best of the Beatles, 2 dozen tunes from their early career and on into solo careers

April 5th and 6th - Pastorale

• Performing Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven, it is the only opera that was completed by Beethoven, the website from Niagara Symphony Orchestra advises, “He said that the Sixth Symphony is "more the expression of feeling than painting.” It is one of Beethoven's few works containing explicitly programmatic content.” This opera went through four revisions, going through the titles of “Leonore” or “The Triumph of Marital Love”, only the final version when performed is called Fidelio.

April 26th and 27th - Blockbuster Broadway

• Spend your evening listening to classic Broadway hits, with songs from Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Jersey Boys, The Sound of Music, Chicago, and more!

June 1st - Symphonie Fantastique

• Written by Hector Berlioz this piece of Programme Music (a piece of music that’s telling a narrative) tells the story of a gifted artist who has fallen into hopelessness and despair over an unrequited love, we listen as we follow our artist down into their Opium induced dreams. Berlioz had multiple different programmes to be given out during the original performances, pieces that would help the listener understand the drama of the story behind it all. Sure to be a delight, the NSO is introducing the history rich Tabla to their iteration of the performance.
