Rockway Conservation Area
- June 13, 2020
Rockway Conservation Area is located in Lincoln, Ontario and runs along the 15 mile Creek and boasts two gorgeous waterfalls. In the spring they can be observed in full force, while during the hot summer months the river dries up and what's left is a trickle of water that cascades down the rock and pools of water are left leaving small fish fry and frogs trapped.
The larger falls is an impressive 63ft drop while the smaller lower falls is only 40ft. The river flows through a series of twists and turns through a beautiful Carolinian forest with multiple hiking trails to be discovered throughout.
Advisory: There are several spots along the various hiking trails where you will notice fire pits. Some of them further down even offer a place to rest before heading back. **I do not recommend having a fire in the middle of a forest.** It is far too risky. Especially if it's been dry and hot in the Summer months.
As mentioned in the introduction, after your hike you can visit the Rockway Vineyard and restaurant, or play a round of golf.
