A Season of giving as we come into Thanksgiving Monday

It seems like as soon as the calendar turns to the month of October, we start to think sweaters, thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Most would say they love the summer but there is something quite comforting when putting on those comfy sweaters and taking a walk to see the leaves changing colors along the Merritt Island, or many hiking trails in the area.

I would bet in favor of many families who sit down to have a meal together this holiday weekend will talk about Christmas, and what to buy for their loved ones, maybe even do a name exchange to keep costs down.

We try to give to as many local events as possible through gift certificates for raffles, door prizes and auctions. This year we’ve donated to 40 different events this year, ranging from the Rotary, Shelters, Alzheimer’s, churches, and school fundraisers.

I challenge you this last quarter of 2019 to do something special for someone else. Make a financial contribution to an organization that helps people, or make a contribution of your time to an organizations’ special event – the rewards are endless of personal gratification of doing something for someone else,  that does not cost you much.
